I also love the old postcards...I have several of them here.

I have a large serving tray that is wood with a glass top. I slide postcards matching the holidays under the glass with the paper doilies.

I either sit in on the table or hang it on the wall.

I have cards for nearly every holiday.

Oh, I don't wish you anymore snow. We left upstate (eastern) NY 3 years ago and can you believe haven't really seen snow since! We did bring our snowblower back south with us and I swear it is single handedly keeping the flakes at bay! LOL I really enjoyed my "visit" with your blog.

Yes - we did get lots more snow. BUT... today the sun is shining! And, even though it was below 0 this morning, the sun coming through the windows warms the heart more than anything!

Your last entry was on the 14th. And you were expecting more snow.

And it's now the 18th. I do hope you'll make another entry soon.

Meanwhile, stay warm and cozy...

Heidi -

Alot of the cards are from the 1912 time period, 1 cent stamps, and little notes from family on the backs. Many of the cards that I have are on a cd - so I don't have a huge collection of actual "paper" cards - that's just now in the works :)

I have a certain style that I like (like the ones I posted), although you can find any style that you can imagine. You can find them at yard sales, flea markets, online, and all over ebay as well. The price can range from a few cents, to $50 or more. For these reasons, I think postcards are a great collectible for anyone!

I can see why you would want to continue the tradition, and also share the pictures with us! The vintage cards are so beautiful! What are the dates? Enjoy the beauty of the snow covered groung and trees, I think it is the most wonderful painting of winter.

Happy Valentine's Day. The cards you posted are just the sweetest! How do you store them? Do you keep any displayed?
